Gigaclear, the ultrafast, pure fibre broadband networks provider, has activated a new gigabit broadband network in Kent, with Sevenoaks Prep School one of the earliest customers to go live with ...

Gigaclear will be hosting 2 demonstration days at the school on Saturday 25th October, and Saturday 15th November. Parents, local customers and residents are invited to come and see a demonstration of the capabilities gigabit fibre broadband from Gigaclear offers.

Residents near the school who are continually thwarted by unreliable and slow broadband speeds will be able to access consistent and reliable speeds of up to 1000Mbps (1Gbps), meaning they will be able to access all available Internet content and applications no matter how many family members are online, the weather, or what time of the day it is.

Sevenoaks Prep has already seen the benefit of the higher speeds in delivering video content and online learning applications to pupils.
Alan Chant, Head of ICT at the school, said:
“As an experiment we were able to run 50 concurrent YouTube videos when the Gigaclear service went live – most in HD – without a hiccup. More importantly our online learning applications now all load and run instantly so our pupils can get more from their lesson time.”

Matthew Hare, Chief Executive, Gigaclear commented:
“We are on the verge of a revolution in the way we all learn, enabled by the Internet. At school, at work and at home, fast, symmetric broadband such as provided by Gigaclear will give us the opportunity to take advantage of new remote learning opportunities throughout our lives. Gigaclear is proud to be a part of this revolution.”

The demonstration days at Sevenoaks Prep School will be open at the following times, all are welcome:
Saturday 25th October, 11:30am – 4:30pm
Saturday 15th November, 12:30pm – 16:30pm
