Oxfordshire based network operator future-proofing more of the county with pure fibre broadband

Gigaclear, the ultrafast, pure fibre broadband provider based in Abingdon, today announces a string of current and forthcoming network activations in its home county of Oxfordshire. It recently activated 6 villages across Otmoor and has now made 3 more networks live in the villages of Wootton, Standlake and Forest Hill.

Gigaclear will be continuing with further rollouts across the remainder of Wootton, including the Boars Hill area and another new network starts construction this month across Kingston Bagpuize and Southmoor.

These projects add a further 3000 properties to Gigaclear’s coverage area in Oxfordshire, bringing the total to approximately 6500. That’s 6500 homes and businesses, all of whom can receive gigabit broadband. Gigaclear, however, is not stopping here, there are several thousand more Oxfordshire properties that will benefit from its pure fibre broadband rollout in 2015.

Gigaclear will have invested over £5 million to deliver gigabit speeds to Oxfordshire residents and businesses who were previously plagued by unreliable and slow broadband speeds, but demanded better. They are now able to access all available Internet content and applications no matter how many family members or employees are online, what the weather is doing or the time of day.

Craig Bower, programme manager of Better Broadband for Oxfordshire commented;
“This focussed investment made by Gigaclear in Oxfordshire provides a significant contribution to meeting our programme objective of ensuring over 95% of properties have access to superfast broadband speeds in the county, enabling us to optimise our public sector investment in Oxfordshire’s communications infrastructure.”

Matthew Hare, Chief Executive, Gigaclear commented:
“To get the infrastructure Britain needs for a prosperous future, we need to invest. These new, pure fibre networks will unleash the creative potential from homes and businesses across the country. We are excited to be able to be behind these gigabit Oxfordshire communities.
