Oxfordshire, 05 June 2014… Gigaclear, provider of ultrafast pure fibre broadband, has appointed Charles McGregor in the newly created post of chairman. McGregor’s appointment reflects Gigaclear’s ambitious business growth and development plans to bring world class internet speeds of one Gigabit to more underserved rural communities.
McGregor brings with him over 30 years of communications experience and business acumen. As a co-founder of Fibernet, McGregor helped create a leading network communications provider and dominant player in the optical networking space. McGregor went on to steer Fibernet through rapid expansion financed by an IPO and ultimate acquisition by Global Crossing.
Since Fibernet, McGregor has held a number of board level positions including non-executive chairman at Gamma Telecom, a wholesale voice business and Huddle, the enterprise content collaboration platform. He also serves as an advisor to private equity firm, Oakfield Capital and is chairman at Headcast Lab, an interactive broadcast animation specialist.
